Sketches used in newspaper advertising.
The pencil sketch and color sketch I used as reference for a piece I created in Marker on Acetate.
One of 4 dog sketches used to create an animated running dog for a website.
Usually my first sketches are very rough and full of notes.

The pencil sketch was for client approval before creating the final watercolor painting.

This is a typical progression... very rough sketch, then a tighter sketch which I use as an underlay for producing the tight sketch which is shown to the client.

The first rough sketch was presented, and as part of the meeting the client and I erased and reworked the sketch 'till we were both happy.

The tight sketch was approved. Now I will enlarge it to final size, and use a lightbox to trace it lightly onto my watercolor paper.

The scoop was used by a design client making a proposal. The sketch was an inexpensive way to show his client what he had in mind.
I sketched this woman, (I had my husband shoot a polaroid of me sitting in my bathing suit... and using some artistic license is the easiest way to improve one's figure!) to work on getting the structure and proportion correct. The final piece was a simple brush stroke logo for a liposculpture brochure.
Trivia tip: in 10th grade I had to choose between a career in engineering (like Dad & 2 bros) or art Home
